What It Is
Honey is a natural sweet substance made by bees from flower nectar. The nectar is collected, transformed, and stored in honeycombs, where it matures into honey. Raw or minimally processed honey retains natural enzymes, antioxidants, and nutrients, making it far more than just a sugar substitute.

Ayurvedic Description
In Ayurveda, honey is called Madhu. It has Laghu (light) and Ruksha (dry) qualities with a Madhura (sweet) taste and a cooling effect after digestion. Madhu is traditionally used as a Yogavahi—meaning it helps carry the benefits of herbs deeper into the body. It is known to balance Kapha dosha and support digestion when used correctly.
